Lash extensions: a newbie’s perspective
Back in November, I was very lucky to have the opportunity to go to the Cotswold Beauty Salon and get my first-ever lash extensions — just in time for the festive season!
The process began with a quick patch test behind my ear at the salon. 24 hours later, I had my lashes tinted. I have naturally-fair lashes, so the lovely Sarah at Cotswold Beauty explained they needed to be tinted darker to ensure my new, extended lash extensions would match my natural ones.
A few days later, I went back to the salon to get my Nouveau Lash extensions. Natasha was in charge of the process, which took around two hours — if you’re going to get extensions done, make sure you’ve got a free morning, afternoon or evening! Natasha was very attentive and made the process as stress-free as possible. She covered my lower lashes with a pad and began the process of sticking, with medicinal glue, one individual lash extension onto each one of my natural lashes. A fiddly process for her, I’m sure — but one that results in a show-stopping effect!
It was so cool to see my finished lashes for the first time. They were long and luscious — I couldn’t stop looking at them! They made such a change from my normal lashes, but they didn’t come across as unnatural or fake. Mascara was something that I didn’t need to bother with after the extensions, though, as I already had a set of lashes.
My extensions stayed in for weeks, meaning I was able to enjoy the Christmas season in style. It was a great experience, and I’d recommend lash extensions to anyone looking to give their peepers that extra pop!
